Prisoners' families forgotten in agenda crossfire

Labour have said that the Lib Dems and Conservatives would cut child tax credits and child trust funds. Sir Alan Beith,Chairman of the Justice Select Committee, says that taxpayers' money would be more effectively spent on prevention rather than incarceration.His letter appeared in the Independent yesterday.
APF Assistant Director Sarah Salmon says," Prisoners' families are caught in the crossfire of party political agendas - to be tough on crime is to be tough on them - to cut child support is to be tough on them."
