Better lives for prisoners' and offenders' families

Action for Prisoners' Families has had a big impact in the families of offenders being seen as a specific group which has particular needs and services.
Action for Prisoners' Families regularly contributes to the consultations which inform government policy making across sectors. Read our responses to recent consultations below.
Our consultation responses use the evidence gained from our members. Action for Prisoners' Families members can either respond directly (see below for current consultations) or let us have your comments and we will include them in our responses.
Action for Prisoners' Families' special interest groups provide the opportunity for families, practitioners and other interested parties to voice their opinions and participate in discussions around consultations. You will need to register to become a member (it's free) to participate.
Follow Action for Prisoners' Familes on Twitter @Prisonerfamily to find out about consultations and breaking news as soon as they are announced. You can also follow us on Facebook to see how we influence policy and keep up to date with developments.
Many prisoners' families prefer to raise issues in discreet ways. Action for Prisoners' Families Family Advisory Group has been set up to enable prisoners' and offenders' families to influence policy.
