Members' Events and Training

APF runs training, networking and development opportunities for its members. 

We aim to make our forums and training as accessible as possible, and costs are kept to a minimum. Non-members are sometimes able to attend although priority is given to members and supporters.

 

 

Events and training for members

Alternatives to Grant Funding - Looking at Commissioning and Social Impact Bonds forum - this forum will be held on 14 ~October at Benedict Rooms, Peterborough Cathedral.  Sessions  will be delivered by St Giles Trust and Social Finance, amongst others, and will cover Social Enterprise funding, Social Impact Bonds, commissioning and Specification Benchmarking and Costing.  One place is free to members.  £30 per place for non-members.  To book on the forum  e-mail Sophie Moorcock .

 

Because you're worth it - demonstrating the impact of work with prisoners' families is the title of APF's annual conference which will be held in London at the School of Oriental Studies on 18 November 2010.  Speakers include Mike Spurr, Director General, NOMS, Martin Brookes, New Philanthropy Capital, and Nicholas Hardwick, the recently appointed Chief Inspector of Prisons. There will be a showing of a recent BBC film about fathers in prison, as well as workshops and discussion.  If you would like to register your interest please  e-mail Sophie Moorcock .

Training

APF offers a training service for full members. We provide tailor-made courses on the needs of frontline staff and volunteers working with prisoners' families. The themes for these courses are suggested to us by our members.  If you are a member and want to discuss training  e-mail Rosemary Cooney , Training and Development Manager or phone her on 0115 9052736 if you are based in the Midlands or the North, or  e-mail Sam Hart , Training and Development Officer, or phone her on 07791 178241 if you are based in the South or South West.
